I saw A Free Man of Color (Broadway) on 01/04/11. Overall, I'd say it was a 2-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “A convoluted though admittedly funny take on early American History.”

I had a okay time and left the show feeling light and mildly entertained. I'd describe the show as funny, visually appealing, and confusing. Mos was a highlight of the show because he gave an inspired performance. If this were a movie, I'd rate it PG-13. I would recommend this show to seasoned theater goers but not to casual theater goers or kids.

I saw this show because it was closing. I wouldn't see it again. I sat in the center orchestra area of the theater. The view was great and the seats were comfy.
