A Review of American Idiot (Broadway)
By Drew S., March 09, 2011
I saw American Idiot (Broadway) on 01/26/11. Overall, I'd say it was a 4-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “I had the best time at a Broadway show than I have had in awhile.”
I had a toe-tappingly good time and left the show feeling amped up and impressed by the talent on stage. I'd describe the show as energetic, funny, and loud. The performers was a highlight of the show because it takes a lot of energy to do what they do 8 times a week. If this were a movie, I'd rate it R. I would recommend this show to friends but not to young kids.
I saw this show because Billie Joe Armstong was in the show that night. I would see it again. I sat in the right orchestra area of the theater. The view was good and the seats were tight but fine.
I had been unimpressed with their Tony Awards performance and I was worried about going to a "Green Day musical", so I was apprehensive about going to the show. I knew more songs than I realized. And I was blown away by the performers. They were really great. I really enjoyed myself. And the show was 95 minutes with no intermission - which I like.
