A Review of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (Broadway)
By Ari R., November 16, 2010
I saw Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (Broadway) on 10/04/10. Overall, I'd say it was a 5-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “Rompus ride, with adolescent tongue in cheek humor through the 7th American presidency.”
I had a rediculous time and left the show feeling gleeful and inspired. I'd describe the show as deconstructive, sarcastic, and well-timed. Christine in the wheel chair telling the story was a highlight of the show because she was such a welcome archetypical farce element to an extremely modern show. If this were a movie, I'd rate it R. I would recommend this show to young people with a sense of humor about history but not to traditional theatergoers.
I saw this show because I heard the music and had to see how it all fit together. I would see it again. I sat in the center orchestra area of the theater. The view was GREAT and the seats were tight but comfy.
