I saw In The Heights (Broadway) on 03/17/09. Overall, I'd say it was a 4-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “It's a wonderful high-energy show.”

If this were a movie, I'd rate it PG.

I saw this show because my boyfriend surprised me with tickets for my birthday. I would see it again. I sat in the center mezzanine area of the theater. The view was clear and the seats were decently comfortable.

I fell in love with the show when it came out and seeing it was a treat. If you aren't familiar with the music, it may be a little hard to follow on the spot, because it is a Latin/rock/hip-hop/rap infused. Overall, the story line is heartwarming and the cast is incredible. The dancing is phenomenal and this is a show that can't be missed when going to New York. 96,000 is a show stopping number in the middle of the 1st act. You can feel the energy flooding off the stage. If you have any appreciation for modern dance and art, this will blow you away. Some of the themes may be a little to mature for those 10 and under as they do deal with death and there is mild drinking on stage (up to your discrepancy). HIGHLY recommend.
