A Review of Jersey Boys (Broadway)
By Tony Marion, May 28, 2010
I saw Jersey Boys (Broadway), but I don't remember exactly when. Overall, I'd say it was a 5-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “A phenomenal evening in the theater that is WORTH your money”
I had a suprisingly fantastic time and left the show feeling energized and ready to go back again. I'd describe the show as genius, passionate, and energetic. The music was a highlight of the show because it is re-created by the performers so well! . If this were a movie, I'd rate it PG-13. I would recommend this show to everyone but not to a family with young kids.
I saw this show because I took my grandfather to see it, who loves the music. I would see it again. I sat in the center orchestra area of the theater. The view was a full view and the seats were very comfortable.
Jersey Boys, is the only other show that can come close to Mamma Mia, as well as its success. We have seen other "jukebox" musicals come and go... but this one, like the genius Mamma Mia, is here to stay. Go, take the in laws, take your grandparents your parents, or just take some friends and have a passionate energetic night of theater, that is so well directed and so well designed. Its just, brilliance, well deserved to win the Tony Award for Best Musical!
