I saw Mary Poppins (Broadway) on 01/28/10. Overall, I'd say it was a 3-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “Too Sugary Sweet for me”

I had a laughable time and left the show feeling theatre-snobby and amused. I'd describe the show as cheesey, annoying, and just not my kind of show. Step in time was a highlight of the show because it was big show-stopping song (but it just never stopped). If this were a movie, I'd rate it G. I would recommend this show to Kids, Kids, Kids but not to anybody who considers themselves a realist or pessimist.

I saw this show because I had heard lots of good things from co-workers. I wouldn't see it again. I sat in the right orchestra area of the theater. The view was fine and the seats were good.

Without sounding like too much of a jerk, the part I enjoyed most was making fun of the audience. I know it's a show for kids, but I heard adults oooh'ing and aaahhhh'ing throughout the show especially when Mary flew for the first time. Really?!?!?!? Did we really think she was flying, really? I could see the stupid wires. But I know I know, I am being a bit jerky. Anyhow, that what was most fun to me was sitting with my sister laughing at how cheesey the show was and how impressed the audience was over the smallest of things.

But I will say the show was well-produced, but it's just not my type of show I guess.
