I saw Memphis (Broadway) on 07/28/10. Overall, I'd say it was a 3-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “a great first act, but was disappointed with the second.”

I had a okay time and left the show feeling let down and disappointed. The music was a highlight of the show because the songs are catchy and the performers have great voices.

I saw this show because I was excited to see the Tony winner. I wouldn't see it again. I sat in the right orchestra area of the theater. The view was terrible and the seats were fine.

A few final notes - as I said the first act is great but the second act goes in a direction that simply isn't enjoyable. The story is rushed and Huey, the male lead, becomes downright unlikeable. Of course, part of the bad experience has to be the fact that I was given a partial view seat (which I wasn't warned about) and people around me talked throughout the entire show.
