A Review of Memphis (Broadway)

I saw Memphis (Broadway) on 11/11/09. Overall, I'd say it was a 5-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “A lavish moving, pallet pleasing night of theater. ”

I had a serendipitous time and left the show feeling satisfied and exhuberated. I'd describe the show as Lavish, vibrant, and moving. Chad kimball was a highlight of the show because he made the audience beleive and care. If this were a movie, I'd rate it PG-13. I would recommend this show to family, friends, collueges but not to infants.

I saw this show because I was given tickets. I would see it again. I sat in the center orchestra area of the theater. The view was full view and the seats were comfortable.

Memphis was one of the most pleasing, and satisfying musicals I have seen on Broadway since Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. The show was moving, touching, vibrant, exciting, suspenseful, and glamorous. The sets swept you into the world of Memphis, the direction and choreography were both wowing but seemed natural and not distracting. The music and libretto are award winning materials, as they were seamless and not disjointed. I have sent school groups, couples, friends, dates, and collueges to Memphis, and have had nothing but exuberant and exciting reviews back. This show is the BILLY ELLIOT of the 2009-2010 season on Broadway. A #1 hit!
