A Review of Million Dollar Quartet (Broadway)
By Anonymous, August 20, 2010
I saw Million Dollar Quartet (Broadway) on 04/09/10. Overall, I'd say it was a 2-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “It's glorified impersonations of four rock legends, with no story.”
I had a adequate time and left the show feeling bored and surprised by people's enthusiasm. I'd describe the show as Vegas-style, forced, and bland. Levi kreis was a highlight of the show because he owned the stage as Jerry Lee Lewis. If this were a movie, I'd rate it PG. I would recommend this show to fans of Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, or Jerry Lee Lewis but not to anyone else.
I wouldn't see this show again. I sat in the center mezzanine area of the theater. The view was clear and the seats were fine.
This does not feel like a Broadway show to me. I think it belongs in Vegas as a club act. I couldn't imagine paying $120 to see this show. I didn't grow up listening to this music, so it was really not my cup of tea. But if I had been a big fan of this music, I know I would have enjoyed it more.
