A Review of Next To Normal (Broadway)
By Lindsey B., July 09, 2010
I saw Next To Normal (Broadway) on 06/26/10. Overall, I'd say it was a 5-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “It was an emotional show, but a wonderful piece of American Theatre.”
If this were a movie, I'd rate it PG-13. I would recommend this show to friends, family, and people 14 and older.
I saw this show because I loved the soundtrack and received discounted tickets. I would see it again. I sat in the center orchestra area of the theater. The view was incredible as I was in the 4th row and the seats were decently comfortable.
This show is an emotional ride. It isn't a Disney feel-good musical. Every member of the cast was more than incredible. Alice Ripley definitely deserved that Tony! It is a rock musical, and the score flow seamlessly with the show. On rare occasions have I been as emotionally moved by a show. Everyone can find something to relate to in this show. After all, it did win Best Musical for a reason!
