I saw Next To Normal (Broadway) on 04/22/10. Overall, I'd say it was a 3-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “Powerful production; but not as great as I expected”

I had a good time and left the show feeling intrigued and disappointed. I'd describe the show as touching, funny, and smart. The performance of jennifer damiano was a highlight of the show because she created a really believable character and sang very well. If this were a movie, I'd rate it PG-13. I would recommend this show to friends and family but not to kids.

I saw this show because I heard it was incredible. I would see it again. I sat in the right orchestra area of the theater. The view was obstructed and the seats were comfortable.

I had only heard wonderful things about this production, so I went into it kind of expecting to be blown away. However, I unfortunately was not.

I thought most of the singing was strong, the set was great, but I wasn't compelled by the majority of the acting or the relationships between the characters. I didn't really care about the people that much (with the exception of a few moments).

But, I like the story and the potential for greatness is there. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and think maybe I went on an off night.
