A Review of Red (Broadway)
By Greg S., April 07, 2010
I saw Red (Broadway) on 03/03/10. Overall, I'd say it was a 4-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “Superb performances, great two-man play”
I had a great time and left the show feeling moved and impressed. I'd describe the show as well-acted, professional, and moving. The acting from both molina and redmayne was a highlight of the show because their performances and chemistry made the show. If this were a movie, I'd rate it PG-13. I would recommend this show to drama fans but not to someone who wants a fun or fluff show.
I saw this show because I was invited last minute. I would see it again. I sat in the center mezzanine area of the theater. The view was great and the seats were were right behind Dylan Baker.
I have to say that I almost did not go see this play because Alfred Molina has always annoyed me for some reason. But he won me over as a fan with this one, and the younger actor Eddie Redmayne really took me by surprise. There were more than a couple of times where his emotional performance moved me to tears.....and the woman sitting next to me was a hysterical mess.
Great show! Great performances! Go see it!
