I saw Rock of Ages (Broadway) on 05/18/10. Overall, I'd say it was a 3-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “It's a journey through 80s rock, with some funny moments.”

I had a pretty average time time and left the show feeling disappointed and let-down. I'd describe the show as lame, over-hyped, and aimed at a demographic. Derek st. pierre as franz was a highlight of the show because he was hilarious. If this were a movie, I'd rate it PG-13. I would recommend this show to people who like 80s rock but not to anyone else.

I saw this show because I was given tickets. I wouldn't see it again. I sat in the center orchestra area of the theater. The view was fine and the seats were comfy.

Several of my friends had recommended this show to me, so I went in with pretty high expectations. And I really did not like it. This show knows its audience, and that's great, but I'm not part of that audience, and I'm okay with that. If I enjoyed 80s rock a little more, this would have been a good fit for me, but that's certainly not my favorite kind of music.
