I saw The Addams Family (Broadway) on 10/21/11. Overall, I'd say it was a 3-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “Energetic cast but the script was seriously lacking”

This show didn't really do it for me. There were definitely some stand outs in the cast, that being Jackie Hoffman and Heidi Blickenstaff, but the plot fell a little flat and was seriously lacking in substance, even for the Addams Family. The set was absolutely amazing! Fortunately, this musical did one of the most important things that a musical can do and that is, entertain. The music overall was fun and lively, although a few songs were pretty forgettable. The strongest aspect of the show was that it played into my childhood nostalgia, but I do wish that the plot had taken a bit more from the classic Addams Family stories.
