A Review of The Addams Family (Broadway)
By Daniel S., July 12, 2010
I saw The Addams Family (Broadway) on 07/11/10. Overall, I'd say it was a 3-star rating. I'd summarize it by saying “amazing sets, clever lines & some strong performances aren't quite enough to make this one shine”
I had a enjoyable time and left the show feeling amused and gratified. I'd describe the show as visually stunning, moderately entertaining, and worth a trip to the theater. Nathan lane was a highlight of the show because he can deliver whatever he's asked to deliver . If this were a movie, I'd rate it PG.
I saw this show because I was invited by a friend. I would see it again. I sat in the right orchestra area of the theater. The view was clear and the seats were squeaky but OK.
I was more impressed by the show than I thought I'd be. It had truly funny moments with some extremely clever writing. The set design and lighting were among the best I've ever seen on Broadway. Simply spectacular.
Nathan Lane by far stood out among the performances. His Gomez was hysterical. Kevin Chamberlin and Wes Taylor also were great. I adore Bebe Neuwirth, but was disappointed by her singing.
